أكدت الهيئة العامة للسلامة الغذائية الأمريكية, أن اللحم الموضوع في الثلاجة لن تتجاوز مدة صلاحيته أكثر من 5 أيام.
في حين أن المدة قد تصل إلى 6 أشهر إذا تم حفظه بشكل جيد في المبرد.
وأكدت الهيئة أن الكفتة الكبد والقلب يجب إستهلاكهم قبل 3 أيام وإذا تم خزنهم فلا يجب أن تتعدى المدة شهرا واحدا في المبرد.
وبخصوص اللحم المطهو، فيجب تخزينه 3 أيام في الثلاجة، و3 أشهر وسط المبرد.
وأوضحت الهيئة المذكورة بأن تجاهل مدة تخزين اللحم، يمكن أن تتسبب في أمراض خطيرة.
